Magpul was founded in 1999 with the intent of developing a simple device to aid in the manipulation of rifle magazines under stress. The company name comes from this original product, called the Magpul. 

Over the last twenty-plus years, Magpul has continued to grow and develop, following the same mission and processes and focusing on innovation, simplicity, and efficiency. To understand Magpul, one must first understand the guiding principles that have shaped the foundation of the company culture and philosophy. These principles have allowed Magpul to maintain a course true to their original mission, and explains how and why they do the things that they do.
